Filipino Association goes Hollywood to close the year
Another grand celebration of Salo Salo Together was organized by the Filipino Association (FA) to close the year 2019. The Hollywood-themed annual event was held at the Indera Kayangan Hall, The Empire Hotel & Country Club on 8 December 2019. As the umbrella organization of Filipino Community organizations in Brunei, the FA encouraged all leaders and members to come dressed to impress like the famous actors and actresses that made the night spectacular.
In the opening remarks of the FA President Malo Ramos-Wong, she thanked everyone for the support they gave to have a successful and great year. She presented the FA achievements highlighting a few activities such as the inauguration of the FA office and the recent Family Day with One-Day Bowling Tournament.
To make the year-end gathering extraordinary, His Excellency Ambassador Christopher B. Montero graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. In his speech, he shared how the FA has played a big role in congregating the Filipinos in Brunei. Akin to FA President’s address, he also reported the accomplishments of the Philippine Embassy in Brunei underscoring the issuance of the Filipino Identification Card and the monthly Consular Services to reach out to more Filipinos in the Districts of Brunei-Muara and Belait.
As the night unfolded, the fabulous attendees witnessed the recognition of the FA officers from the four districts. Likewise, there were a lot of surprises in store during the dance contest, awarding of the Stars of the Night, and a raffle with great prizes up for grabs. Truly, the action-packed program let the USTAAB representatives feel glamorous and joyous every single moment.
