Flashback to 2020

2020 will forever be marked as a difficult year for most of us. We changed our pace, our lifestyle, our view of life because of the global circumstances we all faced. In Brunei however, we consider ourselves extremely lucky. Spared of the pandemic because of good governance, we are able to continue work and activities with very little adjustments. And so with big THANKS in our hearts, we were able to celebrate friendship and camaraderie with fellow Tomasinos and Filipinos in Brunei.

TRIBUTE TO FRONT LINERS

Selected members of USTAA joined the Filipino Organization in Brunei (FAB) in the filming of a special music video giving tribute to all front liners. It was held in Pantai Serasa, Muara on 15 November 2020.

The music video was then presented to the organization front liners during the year-end gathering of FAB ( Filipino Association In Brunei ) held on the 4th of December 2020 at Rizquin Hotel.

SPREADING CHRISTMAS CHEERS TO FILIPINOS AROUND THE WORLD

Among the recent activities USTAA participated in, the most exciting is probably the Paskong Pinoy sa Pasuguan 2020. It was an online Christmas caroling initiated by the Philippine Embassy in Brunei, to spread some Christmas spirit globally. Streamed live via Facebook, the mini concert featured a few groups of talented musicians and singers such as the Sentro Rizal Rondalla, Brunei Music Society, The Filipino Carolers in Brunei and the USTAA Family and Friends Chorale.

It was indeed an important activity showcasing the talents of our very own alumni. We would also like to say a big thanks to our friends and family members who joined and supported our journey from the practice nights to performance day! Well done everyone!

CHRISTMAS PARTY

Like many overseas Filipinos, travelling and coming home during the festive season became impossible in 2020. So to celebrate and continue the spirit of Christmas in our second home, USTAA members and their family - gathered for an afternoon of activities, games and shared festive delicacies.
