UST alumni celebrate the 36th National Brunei Day
Along with 197 delegates of the Filipino community, UST Alumni Association in Brunei celebrated the 36th National Brunei Day. Sovereign and patriotic citizens of Brunei commemorated their full independence from the United Kingdom at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in the capital city on February 23, 2020. This joyful festive was attended by over 26,000 locals and expatriates to pay respect to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

Led by USTAAB President Maria Theresa Cordova, Thomasians took part in the march-past on the National Day Parade involving 160 contingents from various government and private sectors. The alumni who braved the heat while waving the Brunei flag were Amelito De Sena, Christheart Anthony Corral, Charles Andrew De Leon and Dominic Cordova. An alumna, Ennali Alcantara, showcased her musical talent together with her students during the ceremony.

Before the countrywide celebration, the Philippine Embassy in Brunei conducted several practices to ensure that the Filipino representatives have coordinated movements and synchronized flag-waving as they march past the head of the Sultanate of Brunei.
