USTAAB officers go virtual induction
Brunei, Darussalam - 17th Oct 2020, The University of Santo Tomas Alumni Association in Brunei or USTAAB held its 5th Officers Induction Ceremony. It is the first virtual ceremony hosted by the UST Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) held via live streaming on Facebook and Zoom.
The program has started with the prayer by the incoming Vice President Renz Generales and our very own Immediate Past President Ms. Tere served as the moderator. The ceremony was graced with a special motivating message from The President of the UST Alumni Association, Inc. Dr. Evelyn Songco.
The new set of officers for the Fiscal Year 2020-2021 was inducted by the Director of the UST office of Alumni Relations, Asst. Prof. Fredeswindo R. Medina. The 2020-2021 USTAAB officers are :
President : Joji Languido – Castillo

Secretary : Jesusa “Joy” Estrella
(College of Education/BS Tourism /1995)
Treasurer : Dominic Cordova

Public Relations Officer : Deogracias Garcia
(CAFA/ BFA Advertising 1991)
As a part of the tradition, the UST flag that bears the USTAAB emblem was passed to the new set of inducted officers. The USTAAB emblem is a stylized face of the UST tiger with a crown representing the cross of the UST Main Building.
The acceptance of the flag commemorates the beginning of the new mission to make the our Alumni Association become a vibrant community imbued with unending grace and has acknowledged the dedication, hard
work, accomplishments and untiring support of the outgoing officers.
Ms. Joji, the newly elected President, has shared her vision and the upcoming internal and external projects. Furthermore, she has extended her sincerest gratitude to the outgoing officers along with the members of the USTAAB for their active participation. Likewise, she has acknowledged the Philippine Embassy in Brunei, The Filipino Association in Brunei and the UST Office of Alumni Relations for providing us the opportunities to be of service to the nation and global community. Above all, she has expressed her gratitude to our Almighty God in making all things possible.
The program lasted for an hour successfully.
